About the project

Here's a visual overview of our production roadmap for Stygian.
We’re currently in late pre-production—finalizing casting, refining the script, and preparing for test shoots. Parallel to that, we’re budgeting, scouting, and building up for our Kickstarter launch on May 6.

As the stages progress, we’ll update the roadmap to reflect where we are and what’s coming next. Thanks for following along.

"After losing everything, a man retreats into the Nordic wilderness to escape society—only to find himself haunted by an ancient presence, as reality begins to unravel deep in the silence of the forest."

The Premise

Project summary - Stygian

A psychological horror film rooted in myth, madness, and isolation.

Set deep in the Nordic wilderness, Stygian is a slow-burning psychological horror story inspired by films like Hereditary and The Witch, and grounded in true events and Scandinavian folklore.

The film follows Erik, a man who loses everything and retreats from society to live alone in the forest. But as the silence closes in, something ancient begins to stir—something that may not be entirely of this world. What begins as an escape soon spirals into a descent.

Atmospheric, unsettling, and deeply personal, Stygian explores the fine line between reality and delusion—and what happens when you’re truly left alone with your mind.
